“the sound” is THE first song of Young Distractions. before the band came together this song had been bouncing around in my head after a(n) (un)healthy dose of heartbreak and mid 80’s Soul Asylum records.
obviously until all three of us made our mark the song was just some words and guitar chords, and now its well on its way to being some grooves in a piece of wax.
that being said, this finishes side a of our upcoming 12”.
for all you Messengers out there, Young Distractions will be playing the after party of the Milwaukee Messenger Invitational this year on Saturday April 14th. you may also get fucked with at the CMWC/Young Distractions checkpoint. just saying. however for those of you in attendance we will have a special treat for you to take home with you…

this was one of the first songs written for our first rehearsal as a band. the first time we played this together i knew that Young Distractions were on to something.
should be about two weeks before the test pressings of our 12” arrive. can’t wait to hear these songs with the needle scratching and all.
i wonder what color they will be??
